This is a gorgeous black velvet dress made in Italy by Etro. The dress has “leg o’ mutton” sleeves and an open squared neckline with ruffled collar.  The sleeves and upper back are decorated with “devoré” or burn-out velvet.  The dress is unlined and there are no closures, so the dress simply fits over the head.  The dress has an above the knee length and the skirt falls in drapes.

Sizing: Size 40 is indicated, which I think is an Italian equivalent for a US size 6, and although this should fit a small size, please note the following measurements for fit, taking into account the style of the dress and the fact that the dress has to fit over your head:

Shoulders:  15” wide, from shoulder/sleeve seam to shoulder/sleeve seam

Sleeves:  27” long from the shoulder/sleeve seam, meant to drape where the sleeve tightens

Sleeve inseam:  21”

Bust:  33”-34” around, taken at the underarms

Waist:  30” around

Length:  38”, measured flat 

Condition: This dress is in very good condition with no pronounced wear, tear, soiling, staining, marking or odour.  This looks to have seen very little use.
